New York, NY (December 2, 2024) 鈥 After an illustrious career spanning 55 years, esteemed fine jewelry designer, Saul Fraiman, has announced his retirement from the industry. His journey, which began as an apprentice for a jewelry manufacturer, led him to become a renowned figure in the international world of fine diamonds, fancy-color stones, and haute couture jewelry.
Fraiman鈥檚 journey in the diamond industry began in 1968 as a supplier of small, fancy-shaped stones to jewelry manufacturers and designers, a niche that would later lead him to open 鈥淩olling Stone Diamond Co.,鈥 later rebranded as 鈥淔raiman & Associates.鈥 The company became known for its specialization in unique and unusual matched pairs of side stones as well as fancy color diamonds, earning a strong reputation in the industry.
As the new millennium unfolded, Fraiman joined the Julius Klein Group, where he began designing fine diamond jewelry and played a pivotal role in creating many of the world鈥檚 most important diamond pieces. After briefly retiring, Fraiman was drawn back into the industry nine years ago, this time with Grandview Klein Diamond Group (GKDG), where he admired the company’s avant-garde approach to innovative selling and its strength as a major Sightholder and manufacturer. His work with GKDG allowed him to access an extensive inventory of world-class diamonds, a highlight of his long career.
鈥淚t has been an incredible experience working alongside Saul for so many years. His dedication, integrity, and extraordinary talent for creating the world鈥檚 finest diamond jewelry have set a gold standard in our industry,鈥 said Moshe Klein, CEO of Grandview Klein. 鈥淎lthough we will miss him greatly, Saul鈥檚 inspiring legacy will continue to shine brightly for generations.鈥
In recognition of his contributions, Fraiman received the 鈥淥utstanding Exporter of the Year Award鈥 from the Israeli government in 1978. In 2013, he was honored with the 鈥47th Street Diamond Award for Executive Director Fine Jewelry,鈥 further cementing his status as a leader in the field.
鈥淎fter over five decades in diamonds, I reflect on what an honor it has been to be part of an industry that holds my heart and soul. Jewelry is more than a profession鈥攊t鈥檚 a passion, an art, and a bond. Working with the finest products and companies has been a privilege, and I鈥檓 deeply grateful for the memories, partnerships, and joy this journey has brought me,鈥 said Fraiman.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Saul Fraiman has been an active and dedicated member of his community in upstate New York. He serves as Vice President of the local Volunteer Fire Department, is a certified first responder and EMT, an ambulance driver, and a certified fire police officer.
