Robert M. Shipley Award® Luncheon | 1:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m.
The Shipley Luncheon is one of the Society’s most meaningful traditions. Named for AGS founder Robert M. Shipley, who also co-founded GIA, this annual luncheon honors the legacy of a man who spent his life professionalizing the jewelry industry through ethics, education, and credentials. The 2026 recipient of the Robert M. Shipley Award® will be announced at this event. The Award has been given since 1968 and remains the most respected recognition in the Society. Sponsored by GIA.

Free Night | Evening
Wednesday evening is yours. For those who want a group option, a round-trip shuttle to Disney Springs is available for $65 per person—a relaxed night of shopping, dining, and entertainment with the freedom to explore at your own pace. Restaurant reservations are strongly recommended and should be made well in advance. Or, if you’d rather go your own way, Orlando has no shortage of options.

Thursday, September 17

Breakfast and Keynote | 8:30 a.m.–10:30 a.m.
The final day of Conclave starts with a buffet breakfast, remarks from AGS Board President Bryan Moeller, CGA, and a “State of the AGS” update from CEO Katherine Bodoh, RJ, who will also present the John J. Kennedy Award. Then comes a keynote that’s genuinely unlike any other: Deanna Marsigliese, Pixar character designer and art director, whose credits include Soul, Luca, Inside Out, and most recently Inside Out 2, where she designed the characters Anxiety and Ennui.

Titleholders Luncheon | 1:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m.
The Titleholders Luncheon celebrates AGS members who have earned their credentials—a recognition of the commitment to continuing education and ethical business practices that defines the Society. New and milestone credentialed members will be honored, and the Young Titleholder of the Year award will be presented. As a special addition, magician and NYT Crossword constructor David Kwong delivers a 45-minute keynote on illusion, influence, and how perception shapes decision-making.

President’s Party | 7:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m.
There’s no better way to close out Conclave than the President’s Party—an evening of great food, an open bar, and live entertainment. This year’s theme: dress as your favorite Disney or Universal character. It’s a night to get creative, snap photos, and celebrate the community that makes AGS what it is. If past Presidents’ Parties are any indication, you won’t want it to end.

Add-Ons and Excursions

Orlando has plenty to offer beyond the conference rooms, and AGS has made it easy to explore. Several optional excursions are available for attendees who want to see a bit more of the area.

Jewelry Trade Show Security: Protect Your Merchandise Throughout Event Season /jewelry-trade-show-security-protect-your-merchandise-throughout-event-season/ Thu, 21 May 2026 17:56:06 +0000 /?p=81704 By Jewelers Mutual® Group

Trade shows are essential for building relationships and showcasing your brand—but high-value inventory, travel, and crowded venues can elevate security risks. With early preparation, you can reduce exposure and stay focused on the event.

Before the Show

Travel Planning

  • Share itineraries only with trusted staff who need them, and avoid posting real-time travel, hotel, or merchandise details on social media.
  • Confirm whether your hotel offers secure vault storage and understand its access controls and limitations.

Coverage & Security Awareness

  • Confirm your insurance covers transit, on-site display, storage, and post-show transport.
  • Subscribe to industry alerts from organizations such as the Jewelers Security Alliance (JSA) to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Secure Shipping & Transport

  • Use armored transportation whenever possible and always declare the full value of your merchandise.
  • When traveling with jewelry, situational awareness is your strongest defense. Always assume you’re being watched when carrying merchandise.

Staff Preparedness

  • Train all attending staff on trade show–specific protocols, including situational awareness, merchandise handling, and reporting suspicious activity.

During the Show

Booth Security

  • Never leave the booth unattended. Staff your space with at least two people during setup, teardown, and show hours to reduce risk and preserve insurance coverage.
  • Display one item at a time and keep remaining inventory secured in locked cases or safes.

Inventory Management

  • Conduct and document inventory checks on arrival, throughout the day, and before closing; report anything missing or suspicious immediately.
  • Use secure payment methods and verify customer identities for all transactions.

End-of-Day Security

  • Reconcile inventory before leaving the booth each day and use armored services to move unsold merchandise off-site when possible.
  • Remove exhibitor badges before leaving the venue and request security escorts when transporting valuables.

After the Show

Packing & Shipping

  • Complete a final inventory count before packing and avoid branded cases or bags that draw attention during travel.
  • Consider whether carrying high-value jewelry personally increases your exposure to risk, and if a professional courier service may offer a safer, more secure alternative.

Approach Trade Show Season with Confidence

With proactive planning and consistent security practices, you can focus on building connections and showcasing your merchandise without unnecessary risk.

For tailored guidance, contact the Jewelers Mutual Asset Protection team at assetprotection@jminsure.com, and visit online to learn more about protecting your business.

The Difference an AGS Professional Credential Can Make /the-difference-an-ags-professional-credential-can-make/ Thu, 21 May 2026 17:36:16 +0000 /?p=81356 The ÁńÁ«ĘÓƵ (AGS) credentials and designations were designed to help clients better understand the qualifications of the jewelry professionals they work with throughout their jewelry-buying journey. Earning them is a benefit of AGS membership that sets you apart.

Whether you’ve earned a designation—Certified Sales Associate (CSA) or Jewelry Evaluation Advisor (JEA)—or a credential, from the Registered Jeweler (RJ) and Registered Supplier (RS) to the Certified Gemologist (CG), Certified Gemologist Appraiser (CGA), or our most advanced, the Advanced Certified Gemologist Appraiser (ACGA)—each one reflects a commitment to your clients and your profession. To achieve and maintain any AGS designation or credential, members must uphold the Society’s code of ethics and recertify each year.

That ongoing education pays off in real ways. When clients see that you’re proactive about your training and can apply that knowledge to their buying experience, it builds trust. And trust has a way of turning casual clients into lifelong ones.

The annual recertification exam keeps your knowledge current, not just to maintain your title, but so every client conversation is backed by the most up-to-date industry knowledge. Standards evolve. Industry practices are refined. Consumer questions get more sophisticated. Recertification ensures you’re equipped to meet all of it.

If you’re an AGS member who holds a professional credential or designation, keep an eye on your inbox. The annual recertification exam is set to launch in mid-June 2026, and you’ll receive everything you need to get started.

Community News: GemFind Introduces JewelCloud 2.0® to Power the Future of Connected Jewelry Commerce /gemfind-introduces-jewelcloud-2-0/ Wed, 20 May 2026 16:00:00 +0000 /?p=81714

Newport Beach, CA (May 19, 2026) — GemFind Digital Solutions, a leading commerce infrastructure and technology provider for the jewelry industry, announces the launch of JewelCloud 2.0®, a next-generation platform designed to transform how jewelry and diamond vendors and retailers connect, manage product data, and scale online commerce.

Purpose-built for the jewelry industry, JewelCloud 2.0® creates a centralized ecosystem that streamlines product distribution, retailer connectivity, ecommerce merchandising, and digital growth between brands and their authorized retail partners.

GemFind will showcase JewelCloud 2.0® at the upcoming JCK Las Vegas Show May 29–June 1st, where suppliers and retailers can experience live demonstrations and explore how the platform is reshaping digital commerce infrastructure within the jewelry industry.

A Smarter, More Connected Commerce Ecosystem

JewelCloud 2.0® moves beyond traditional product data management by creating an intelligent commerce network where vendors can seamlessly distribute product catalogs while retailers can instantly access merchandise, and publish that content on their website.

The platform is designed to reduce operational friction, eliminate manual processes, and create a faster, more scalable path from product creation to online sale.

As more vendors join the network, which already is composed of over 250 jewelry brands and diamond suppliers, retailers gain access to broader product availability and streamlined integrations with their websites. The JewelCloud network includes recognized jewelry brands and designers such as Tacori, Lashbrook, Stuller, Le Vian, Fana, Royal Chain, Simon G., Hearts On Fire, Allison Kaufman, and Overnight Mountings. As more retailers connect to the platform, vendors benefit from expanded digital distribution and stronger online visibility, creating a scalable network effect across the jewelry ecosystem.

Key Capabilities of JewelCloud 2.0®

The enhanced platform introduces advanced automation tools designed to improve efficiency and consistency for both vendors and retailers. Highlights include:

  • Integrated EDI Functionality – Streamlines ordering workflows by enabling retailers to generate and send purchase orders directly to EDI-enabled vendors through a centralized interface.
  • Automated Pricing & Currency Management – Automatically manages pricing adjustments across currencies to support global commerce operations with greater accuracy and efficiency.
  • Multi-Language Functionality – Enables vendors and retailers to distribute product content across multiple languages for international audiences and expanded market reach.
  • GemText AI – An AI-powered content optimization tool that enhances product titles and descriptions with ecommerce-ready, SEO-friendly, and brand-consistent copy.
  • Centralized Marketing Asset Distribution – Allows vendors to distribute approved marketing assets directly across their authorized retail network, ensuring consistent branding and more effective promotional execution.
  • Retailer Syndication & Product Feed Management – Simplifies how vendors distribute product data while helping retailers onboard and merchandise products more efficiently online.

Driving the Future of Jewelry Commerce

“JewelCloud 2.0® is about building the infrastructure that powers modern jewelry commerce,” said Founder & CEO, Alex Fetanat. “We’ve created a connected platform that helps vendors distribute more efficiently, enables retailers to showcase products from their vendors and scale digitally, and strengthens the relationship between brands and their retail partners through smarter technology and automation.”

With e-commerce continuing to evolve rapidly, GemFind is also expanding its investment in AI-powered commerce tools, including intelligent merchandising, enhanced product content optimization, and technologies designed to improve online shopping experiences and operational efficiency across the jewelry industry.

A Continued Commitment to Jewelry Industry Innovation

With more than 25 years serving the jewelry industry and a network of hundreds of jewelry businesses, GemFind continues to develop specialized commerce technologies built specifically for the operational needs of jewelry vendors, manufacturers, and retailers.

ÁńÁ«ĘÓƵ Launches Revised AGS Way Course, Raising the Standard for Jewelry Professional Credentialing /ags-way-pr/ Tue, 19 May 2026 16:35:47 +0000 /?p=81572 LAS VEGAS, NV (May 19, 2026) — The ÁńÁ«ĘÓƵ (AGS) has announced the launch of a newly revised AGS Way Course—the required final step for members pursuing the ÁńÁ«ĘÓƵ® Registered Jeweler (RJ) or Registered Supplier (RS) credential. The updated course reflects a deliberate evolution in how AGS prepares its members: deeper content, a more effective learning structure, and a clearer connection between credentialing and day-to-day professional practice.

The course remains fully online and self-paced, with a six-month completion window.

Deeper Content Across Every Core Area
The revised course expands coverage across all foundational areas of AGS membership, including AGS history, its mission, and member values; ethics, compliance, and consumer protection; diamond grading and preparation for the 2-Diamond Practical Exam; appraisal and report standards; and brand utilization, member benefits, and business application. The emphasis throughout is on real-world application—not just conceptual knowledge.

A Learning Experience Built for Working Professionals
Structured into six video modules with sequential progression, the course is designed around adult learning best practices. Scenario-driven content, embedded knowledge checks, and practical exam preparation give learners the tools they need to apply what they learn immediately—in customer interactions, sales presentations, and business decisions.

Key features of the enhanced experience include:

  • Self-paced delivery with a six-month completion window
  • Six structured video modules with sequential knowledge building
  • Embedded quizzes and knowledge checks to reinforce retention
  • Scenario-driven content with direct connection to credential achievement
  • Accessible anytime, anywhere—no scheduling constraints

Credentials That Mean Something
The revised course reinforces the three pillars of AGS membership—ethics, knowledge, and consumer protection—and equips members to clearly communicate those values to clients. By translating technical expertise into stronger sales presentations and deeper customer confidence, the course makes the RJ and RS credentials measurable indicators of professionalism, not just letters after a name.

“The revised AGS Way Course doesn’t just teach what it means to be an AGS member—it equips you to demonstrate it, benefit from it, and build your business on it,” said Wade Abel CG, JEA, Director of Education and Gemology at the ÁńÁ«ĘÓƵ.

Availability and Pricing
The revised AGS Way Course is available now. It is open to AGS Retail Members with prerequisite education and to AGS Partner Members with no prerequisite required. The enrollment cost remains $495.

To learn more, contact education@ags.org. To enroll in the AGS course, visit . Visit the ÁńÁ«ĘÓƵ during Las Vegas Jewelry Week at Luxury in booth LUX700A.
